EKA Mobility opened six manufacturing facilities in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh to scale electric buses, trucks and smaller commercial vehicles. The plants in Pune and Pithampur are part of an 11-facility network across 120 acres, with annual capacity for more than 40,000 EVs and over Rs 3,500 crore invested. The company said it has an order book of more than 11,000 buses.
Why it matters: More domestic factory capacity could help supply India’s electric-bus rollout and support the company’s large order book.

Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha shifted and reassigned six senior IAS officers a day before Sajjan Singh Yadav, a 1995-batch AGMUT cadre officer, takes over as Chief Secretary. The reshuffle moves officers across departments such as revenue, home, health and Jal Shakti, the water resources department.
Why it matters: The postings come a day before Sajjan Singh Yadav takes charge as chief secretary.
The Indian Express reviewed 102 of 131 Secretary-level officials’ latest immovable-asset declarations posted on public portals. Of 244 self-acquired properties declared, 115 did not list area or dimensions and 115 did not give current value. Ten officials declared no self-acquired property.
Why it matters: Missing details weaken the disclosure system meant to deter corruption and keep senior officials accountable.
Nearly 1,100 trees were cut on Saidongar hill near Mumbai before the work was stopped after protests. Torrent Power is building a 3,000-MW pumped-storage hydropower plant there for Rs 13,505 crore, using 377 hectares and more than 32,000 trees. About 150 tribal families in six hamlets say the forest is their source of fuel, food and medicine.
Why it matters: The project needs 377 hectares and more than 32,000 trees.

Ukraine said its air raid alert system was hacked and briefly showed false chemical, radiation and nuclear warnings on phones and loudspeakers. Russia’s emergency ministry said its mobile app was hit by a massive cyberattack that spread fake alerts, while officials said the main public warning systems kept working. Ukraine’s digital ministry later said the nationwide alert system was normal.
Why it matters: The main public warning systems kept working.
The State Department said it has revoked more than 300,000 visas, calling it the highest total in American history. It said most cancellations were tied to criminal activity, public safety concerns, immigration violations, fraud or misrepresentation. More than 4,000 revocations were for birth tourism, including over 700 held by Chinese nationals.
Why it matters: The State Department did not release a country-wise breakdown of the revocations.
Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yashar party, said he wants to use a parliamentary majority against Benjamin Netanyahu to form a broad coalition after the October 27 election. He said any coalition must back a state inquiry, universal service, repeal judicial overhaul laws, and treat Hamas as a terrorist group whose military and governing power in Gaza must be dismantled. He also said the Knesset, not the outgoing government, holds the confidence vote.
Why it matters: Any lawmaker who accepts those principles could join a government.
Goldman Sachs lifted its December Brent forecast to $105 a barrel and its WTI forecast to $94. It also raised its 2027 averages, and said Brent could reach $140 in an upside case if Gulf output stays 3.5 million barrels a day below its 2025 average. The bank cited higher geopolitical risk from Middle East and Russia-Ukraine tensions.
Why it matters: Higher price forecasts point to more expensive energy if supply disruptions deepen.

Kimi Antonelli, 20, finished third at the Mexico City Grand Prix but sealed the Formula 1 title with four races left. He became the youngest champion in F1 history and the first Italian champion since Alberto Ascari in 1953. Max Verstappen won the race, while the event was red-flagged after Valtteri Bottas crashed.
Why it matters: Mercedes and Antonelli have already locked up the title before the season’s final four races.
A Nature Astronomy study used iron meteorites to reconstruct what the earliest solid bodies in the Solar System were made of. The researchers say the first million years were dominated by chondrules, tiny heat-formed rock fragments, not icy matrix material rich in water and organics. They estimate early outer Solar System bodies were 83 percent to 92 percent chondrules.
Why it matters: The findings change how scientists think planets and moons assembled from the start.
A Scientific Reports study examined how 205 people’s waking imagination matched their dreams, including 84 with visual aphantasia, the inability to picture things on demand. Nearly half of the aphantasia group said they always had visual experiences in dreams, while others said they never did. The links between waking and dreaming were stronger for sounds and inner speech than for images.
Why it matters: Some people can lose visual imagery while awake yet still have it during sleep.

The five deep reasons behind every pattern. They never change.
Each story, and the pattern it's a clue for.
How today links to other patterns, and to last week.
⟷ 💰 Money
Tighter liquidity and new factory openings both point to capital being steered into physical industrial capacity.
Simplismart raised $14 million last week; today FuriosaAI raised $620 million in the same AI chip funding wave.

bank selloff: India is shifting state-bank ownership from the state toward private owners. Clue: RBI capped withdrawals at Puducherry Co-op Urban Bank. Remember it as: Public bank, private hands.
2“Tenstorrent hits $6.2B valuation to scale open-weight AI chips” (20 Oct) was evidence of which pattern? (pattern since 20 Oct)
Compute cash: AI chip and model firms are raising larger capital rounds to secure compute capacity. Clue: This story shows AI chip and model firms are raising bigger capital deals to secure compute capacity because Tenstorrent raised $1.5 billion at a $6.2 billion valuation to scale open-weight AI chips. Remember it as: Bigger rounds, more compute.
1Which of today's stories is evidence for Compute cash?
It is a large AI-chip funding round, exactly the pattern’s evidence.
2Which force connects EKA Mobility opens six plants to make more electric vehicles and Mivi opens a ₹200 crore manufacturing facility in Hyderabad?
Both stories are about money funding new plant capacity.
3Which headline would weaken factory buildout?
Outsourcing instead of building plants cuts against the capacity-buildout pattern.
Another Indian hardware company will announce a new domestic manufacturing facility.
How we'll check: announcement of a domestic manufacturing facility in India. Right if: at least 1.
Could be wrong because: Firms may delay plant announcements or shift to outsourcing instead of opening new sites.
